Abstract

Background: Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) is an acute peripheral neuropathy that often leads to significant physical and psychological challenges. While rehabilitation and medical management are well-established, the role of behavior therapy in improving patient outcomes remains underexplored.

Objective: This systematic review aims to evaluate the impact of behavior therapy on patients with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, focusing on its effectiveness in enhancing psychological well-being and functional recovery.

Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted across multiple databases, including PubMed, Research Gate, and Google Scholar for studies published up to August 2024. Inclusion criteria were studies examining behavior therapy interventions in GBS patients, with outcomes related to psychological and functional improvements.

Conclusion: Behavior therapy appears to offer valuable support for patients with GBS, contributing to both psychological and functional recovery. While preliminary results are promising, further research with larger sample sizes and standardized protocols is needed to confirm these findings and optimize therapeutic approaches.

Keywords: Guillain-Barré Syndrome, behavior therapy, systematic review, psychological intervention, functional recovery.
